Bangladesh hopes to defeat New Zealand in their first-ever Test series.

Bangladesh takes on New Zealand in the second and final Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, full of confidence to win their first-ever series in the longer format.

9.30 a.m. is when the match will begin.

After winning the first Test by 150 runs, the Tigers now have a 1-0 lead in the series. They would win the series against a team without Zimbabwe or the West Indies if they won or drew.

The team's biggest match winner and regular captain, Shakib Al Hasan, was not present for the victory, nor were some of their important players, including Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal, Ebadot Hossain, and Taskin Ahmed.

Bangladesh has always won at home against elite teams, but unlike the victories over Australia and England, this one was achieved on a really good pitch, which gave the home team even more confidence.

Although Sylhet's pitch was spin-friendly, it wasn't as explosive as Mirpur's. Additionally, the bounce was uniform, which favored the batters with simultaneous skill. However, Mirpur's pitch will be entirely different. The bounce will be uneven and the pitch slow if it isn't a rage turner, which is supposed to make the batter's job more difficult.

Bangladesh, however, will be hoping for a series win and their fourth consecutive win at home this year, having won a Test each against Ireland, Afghanistan, and New Zealand in the opening game.

"In Sylhet, we played some excellent cricket. We did a great job competing all five days. Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha said, "We chose the lineup based on our strengths and the circumstances in Sylhet.

Sometimes it takes a few sessions to even learn how to read Mirpur.

In this pitch, there is an incredible amount of traffic. In world cricket, I don't believe any one location is used as much. We have no idea what the future will hold. Right now, we'll try to keep things as they are.

Bangladesh made a strong start to their third cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) after winning the match as well. They were unable to begin with a victory in the previous two cycles and only managed one win.

This is their opportunity to now position themselves for advantage. Bangladesh's goal is to win the World T20 matches at home, so a series win over New Zealand could be very beneficial.

"Trying to win every game at home would be a realistic goal (in this WTC cycle). That seems doable to me. We want to play well at home, as I stated at the beginning of this series. The head coach then advised trying to compete outside.

Our fast bowlers are capable of helping us compete in a different condition. Our young athletes can perform well in any environment. We must get ready. The board has implemented some good practices, such as playing on grass fields and using Duke balls. It has aided in the development of quick bowlers and quick bowling hitters.

Bangladesh has a terrible test record, but given their rate of improvement, it seems likely that they will soon improve. The Tigers have played 139 Test matches thus far, with 19 wins, 102 losses, and 18 draws.

They played 18 matches against the Black Caps, winning just 2, losing 13, and drawing 3. With the exception of Zimbabwe and the West Indies, Bangladesh has now won multiple Test matches against only one team: New Zealand.

Bangladesh was planning to win the series handily, but New Zealand, who were in a desperate situation, swore they would fight their way back.

"Once more, we anticipate obviously spin-friendly conditions, but as a bowling group, we talked about the need to be more consistent for a longer period of time after the last game. Naturally, partnerships as a batting unit come next. We've had an excellent first few days of instruction. Thus, I'm excited to play another test match," Tim Southee, the captain of New Zealand, said.

Bangladesh: Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Nurul Hasan, Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, Naeem Hasan, Khaled Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Shahadat Hossain, Hasan Morad, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Hasan Morad, Mominul Haque, and Shadman Islam.

Ajaz Patel, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Kane Williamson, Will Young, Neil Wagner, and Tim Southee (captain) are the players from New Zealand.
